Portal 2 jau parduotas 4 milijonų kopijų tiražu
-
Vakar Valve Software leidėjai kompiuterinių žaidimų rinkai pristatė ilgai lauktą pirmojo asmens galvosūkių žaidimą, Portal 2, kuris iš karto susilaukė ypatingai šiltų atsiliepimų. Nors Portal 2 komercinė sėkmė matoma akivaizdžiai, Valve Software nenustoja girtis. Kompanijos duomenimis, net atėmus Portal 2 pardavimus per skaitmeninę Steam platinimo sistemą, visame pasaulyje jau parduota beveik 4 milijonai Portal 2 kopijų!
Palyginus su Portal žaidimų serijos pradžia, tokie pardavimų skaičiai tikrai stebina! Mat originalus Portal savo gyvenimą pradėjo kaip DigiPen Technologijų Instituto studentų baigiamasis projektas, pavadinimu Narbacular Drop. 2006 metais laimėję pagrindinį Nepriklausomo Žaidimų Festivalio, Studentų Parodos apdovanojimą, jaunieji specialistai sulaukė netikėto pasiūlymo iš Valve leidėjų.
Narbacular Drop tarpdimencinių portalų koncepcija buvo panaudota Valve leidėjų Half-Life žaidimo visatoje. Taip Narbacular Drop buvo pervadintas į Portal. Pastarasis 2007 metais pasirodė kaip vienas iš trumpų galvosūkių žaidimų garsiajame The Orange Box pakete. Jame be Portal buvo ir Half-Life 2 bei internetinė, daugeliui žaidėjų skirta šaudyklė Team Fortress 2.
Portal, laimėjęs keletą svarbių apdovanojimų, greitai įtikino Valve leidėjus, kad yra vertas būti atskiru, nepriklausomu žaidimu ir taip gimė Portal 2.
